Morning Musume will be making their 8th appearance on the anticipated Kouhaku Utagassen, a large festival involving the years greatest artists coming together in red and white teams (female and male respectively) to perform. Morning Musume's appearances have been some of the greatest over the past years and their double clothing change is a tradition of theirs during performances. Morning Musume will be performing with Sharan Q (Tsunku's former band that had redebuted this year after 10+ years). They will be playing the backup rock rendition of Morning Musume's hits this year, Aruiteru and Ambitious! Yashinteki de IIjan. GAM, another H!P group, will be performing Thanks! In this medley also.
12-27-2006: Koharu featured in Special 10th Year Anniversary Single Group
As a tribute for Morning Musume turning 10 years old by 2007, Tsunku (the producer of the group) has decided to form a special unit for their 10th Anniversary Single, "Bokura Ga Ikiru My ASIA". The group is comprised of Kaori Iida, Natsumi Abe, Goto Maki, Risa Niigaki, and Koharu Kusumi, whom Tusnku feels, reflects Morning Musume over the decade. The single will be released January 24, 2007. More information can be seen in the discography section.
12-17-2006: Ribbon no Kishi Special on Christmas Day

Morning Musume and the featured Hello!Project members will be viewed nationwide on a Ribon no Kishi special aired on television on Christmas Day. What the special entails is still in the works. 12-11-2006: Morning Musume will release 32nd Single (Untitled) February 14, 2007
Morning Musume will be releasing their 32nd single on Valentine's Day next year! This will be Mitsui Aika's debut single with Morning Musume. The rumored title is "Egao YES Nude" but we will see as we draw closer until its time. The single will also probably coincide in theme to Morning Musume's next spring tour, "Sexy 8".
12-10-2006: Morning Musume welcomes new 8th Generation Member Mitsui Aika!

Yes it's the truth! Morning Musume now welcomes a new member to the 10 year Morning Musume family. Her name is Mitsui Aika (13) and will join Morning Musume in their new single in February 2007. Mitsui Aika will become the first member of a generation after Koharu Kusumi. Her birthday is in January, meaning she will be turning 14 in a small amount of time, making her and Koharu the same exact age until July. Morning Musume will now become a 9 nin (person) group. Aika will not be performing with Morning Musume at the annual Kouhaku Utagassen Song Festival. |
